Glazed Cabinetry

Design brief

Glass-front upper cabinets flank a broad hood on the cooking wall. Their small panes add a finer rhythm to the wall, while the hood and the island give the room two larger forms to read from a distance. At the island, a pale counter extends over a warm wood base with seating along the outer face. Pendants hang above the counter, and the window brings side light to the perimeter. The photographs show how the glass, wood and pale cabinetry balance across a room with several kinds of storage.
