Talha Gursoy

Background

Born in Istanbul, Talha moved to the Washington area at seventeen to study. He founded a design-build practice while still in school and works on residential projects from the first floor plan through construction.

Approach

Talha begins with how a house works today. He looks at where daylight reaches, how rooms connect, and where daily routines run into the layout. He studies several plan options before turning to cabinetry, lighting, and materials. His experience on the jobsite shapes how he draws details and thinks through how they will be built.

Perspective

Photography and painting inform Talha’s attention to composition, proportion, and the way light moves through a room. That shows in the view across a room and in the line where two materials meet.

Talha takes on a limited number of projects each year so each home gets his direct attention.
