The Slate Bath

Design brief

This bath is photographed at the scale of the vanity. A rectangular basin sits below the pale countertop, so the surface reads as one plane around the opening. The faucet brings a reflective finish to the back edge, where light also picks up the variation in the wall tile. Dark drawer fronts put most of the contrast below the counter. The closer views show the small transitions that shape this part of the room, particularly the edge of the sink, the line at the backsplash and the gap between drawer fronts.
