Design brief

A strongly veined stone surface wraps the island and gives the kitchen a clear center within the open floor. The same pattern is visible from the side and from across the room, where it stands out against the wood flooring. A slim linear pendant follows the length of the island. Perimeter cabinetry sits back from that composition, with lighting visible below the counter run on one side. The wider photographs show how the island remains the most substantial element in the view while keeping the adjoining floor area open.
