Design brief
A blue island brings color into the middle of this Springfield kitchen. Brass-toned pendants and stools introduce warmer finishes around it, while pale cabinetry keeps the perimeter visually light. The worktop extends toward the seats, where its thin edge stands out against the darker base. The cooking wall adds contrast at the hood and backsplash. In the wide photograph, the island, window and range each have their own place in the composition. The closer angle makes the relationship between the island seating and the cabinet runs easier to see.
