Design brief
The island and surrounding cabinetry share a pale palette in this Rockville kitchen. A pair of brass-toned pendants stands out against the lighter surfaces, marking the island without interrupting the view of the cabinet wall. Daylight enters from the window side and reaches the broad worktop. On the cooking wall, the hood and nearby cabinet fronts form a compact grouping. The two views show the same room from different sides, making the depth of the island and the spacing between the work surfaces easier to read.
