Design brief
Dark wood cabinetry anchors the kitchen at Rock Creek Residence. A row of dark-framed windows brings daylight along the work wall, while the pale island top catches light in the center of the room. The tall cabinets occupy a separate wall, leaving the windows as the main feature on the sink side. In the wider photograph, the dining table sits just beyond the island and shares the view of the windows. Pendant lights above the kitchen keep the ceiling visually open between the cooking and dining areas.
Open shelves at the end of the island face the dining area, where books and smaller objects are visible. The sink sits below the windows, while the tall appliance run occupies the perpendicular wall.
