Design brief

Muted green cabinetry carries through the cooking area and glazed storage in this Potomac kitchen. The dark hood and island introduce larger areas of contrast, while brass-toned fixtures and cabinet hardware provide smaller points of warmth. Glazed upper compartments break up the solid door fronts and draw attention to the top of the cabinet wall. A lower band of light is visible along the cabinets. In the wider views, the island and surrounding counters establish parallel work surfaces, with lighting at several heights making their edges easy to distinguish.
